■ Overview

An adsorption tower is a prevention facility that removes gaseous contaminants by adsorbing them onto a binder.

The adsorption tower absorbs polluted gas and removes it by passing it through the inside of the adsorption tower full of adsorbent. It is useful when the contaminants are non-combustible or difficult to burn, or when the concentration of contaminants is low, and can also remove bad odors.

Adsorbents used in adsorption towers include activated carbon, zeolide, silica gel, and alumina, of which activated carbon is the most widely used.

The principle of adsorption uses the property of gas molecules or atoms to attach to a solid surface. When contaminated gas passes through an adsorption tower containing an adsorbent, not only specific harmful gases but also bad odors are removed.

Adsorption is especially effective when the target gas is worth recovering, is non-flammable, and has extremely low concentrations.

■ Features

For removal by adsorption, the larger the specific surface area and affinity, the greater the effect of adsorption.

The adsorbent (solid) is porous, and as the number of capillaries increases, the solid interface required for adsorption increases.

It is used to absorb and remove normal odors or specific gases.

It can be used continuously by repeating adsorption and regeneration

2. Recovery of organic solvents

3. Separation of solvent vaporized in air

4. Separation of colloids in liquid (decolorization, decolorization and purification of solutions, etc.)

5. Separation of ions in solution (softening of water) and removal of dissolved gases in solution

6. Low and high concentration organic solvent (VOC) gas and odor treatment
